People who have migraine with aura (MwA) are at increased risk of ischemic stroke, with almost two times the risk of those without migraine. Considering that atrial fibrillation (AF) is a risk factor for stroke, assessing the risk of AF could be of immense benefit to MwA patients, hopefully preventing them from a devastating complication of their headache disorder.
